Commisioning and Service Engineer, ABB, Helsinki

As a Commissioning and Service Engineer you will be working with both internal and external matters with the ABB products and systems. You will be responsible for comissioning and maintaining rotating machinery, transformers, frequency converters, switchboards, automation and Azipod propulsion units. You report directly to Operations Manager, ensuring that commissioning activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively, meeting the standards, specifications and safety requirements. In this position you have the chance to travel internationally up to 200 days a year. We value an initiative problem-solver, who has knowledge of electrical power systems.

• Supervision of installations, startups and testing
• Acceptance testing of the systems in cooperation with the classification societies and the customer
• Warranty and service calls on operating vessels
• Comissioning and maintaining ABB Marine control and monitoring systems
• Assistance in improving of project design as well as participating in project review meetings and providing input on commissioning activities
• Ensuring effective project delivery by improving processes
• Solution identifying to meet business and customer needs
• Cooperation with different stakeholders, and giving feedback to the organization to apply lessons learned

• Suitable educational background (Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Automation Engineering or similar)
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and systems
• Experience in MS Office software
• Some practical work experience in commissioning relevant products and systems
• Fluent written and spoken skills in English
• Possibility and willingness to travel internationally (up to 200 days per year)

Previous work experience in shipbuilding or similar position, knowledge of ABB Oy products and language skills are seen as an asset.
