Embedded Systems Engineer, Goodmill Systems Oy, Espoo

The new Engineer will design the physical aspects of our products together with external service providers and suppliers. Most of the time, we are not engaged in a complete revision of the physical form, so the day-to-day work is about selecting and evaluating components and participating in the development of software features in C in embedded Linux. The engineer will work as a part of the R&D team lead by our CTO with mostly software developers. Within the development tasks your main tasks include software implementation planning, programming, testing and other tasks related to software integration. Goodmill Systems is constantly developing new features for its entire product platform and products based on it, so the scope of software development tasks varies from small modifications to complete product features. • Designing the physical aspects of the products together with external service providers and suppliers

Examples of the kind of work the engineer would be doing:

• Evaluating what GNSS antennas we supply to our customers,
• Figuring out how to provide a compliant AC power supply to a product designed for vehicle DC usage,
• Estimating what kind of a project would be to design an IP67 compliant version of an existing product, or
• Selecting a new 5G module to be integrated that supports the latest 3GPP release

• Telecommunications technology knowhow including but not limited to WiFi, LTE, 5G
• Embedded C programming skills
• Electrical and electronics design skils
• Thermal design skills
• Understanding of radio and wireless communications technology
• Understanding of electronics product’s certifications and stan
• Fluent in English, Fluency in Finnish is seen as an advantage
