Metallurgist, Metso

We are looking for a Metallurgist for the Minerals Processing development group at Metso Research Center Pori. Main responsibilities and functions are process technology development, customer test work, R&D and innovation projects in the field of Minerals Processing.

Your work tasks will include:

• Conduct beneficiation test work together with the Metallurgical Technicians and conduct required data handling and reporting
• Work closely with the Experimental Research teams, especially with Minerals Processing laboratory team, guiding the test work in the laboratories
• Write up instructions and procedures for laboratory test work and pilot runs conducted in the process.
• Use process simulation software tools including mass balance calculations, HSC simulation, and develop expertise in flowsheet development
• Pilot, site and commissioning work
• Understand the business needs from Market areas and make sure they are coordinated closely with Technology and Innovation, together with the Business Lines

• Master's Degree preferably in Minerals Processing (e.g. Chemical Engineering also possible)
• Strong skills in beneficiation technology
• Ability to write technical and scientific documentation
• Ability to travel occasionally
• Fluent English skills, Finnish is seen as a plus

Earlier experience in R&D work including experimental laboratory test work and knowledge in HSC Sim are seen as an advantage.
