About the role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure and operational processes required for deploying AI and data-intensive applications. You will collaborate closely with AI developers, data scientists, and cloud architects to ensure that models and pipelines are secure, efficient, and production-ready.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust systems, automating processes, and enabling high-performing AI development teams.
Work tasks
- Manage and develop cloud infrastructure (primarily in Google Cloud Platform)
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI and data workflows
- Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of machine learning models
- Ensure infrastructure security, observability, and performance
- Support teams in delivering reliable, production-grade AI solutions
We are looking for
The ideal candidate has strong experience in cloud-native DevOps practices and understands the unique requirements of ML/AI systems in production.
- At least 3 years of experience in machine learning with Python (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- At least 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining cloud services in production (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- At least 3 years of experience using SQL.
- At least 3 years of experience with IaC and CI/CD solutions in cloud environments.
Technologies used in the environment include:
- Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, BigQuery, Kubernetes, Redis)
- Apache Airflow, Terraform / Terragrunt, Gradio
- CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Understanding of MLOps and the operational lifecycle of AI applications
Practicalities
- Start date: September 1, 2025 (or as agreed)
- Language: Finnish or English; Swedish is appreciated but not required
- Work mode: On-site presence in Helsinki required 1–3 days per week
- Assignment: Long-term consulting assignment with Academic Work
