About the role
As an AI Developer, your core responsibility is to build and integrate AI-powered applications and components into production systems. You will work closely with data scientists, designers, and business stakeholders to bring AI use cases to life—from early experimentation to scalable, maintainable solutions in production. Your work will contribute directly to customer-facing functionalities, personalization features, and marketing automation tools.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with both code and AI models, and who enjoys bridging the gap between experimentation and real-world impact.
Work tasks
- Design and develop AI-driven applications and features using generative models
- Integrate AI components with backend and frontend systems (e.g. via APIs, cloud pipelines)
- Collaborate with data scientists to implement and scale models in production environments
- Work with infrastructure and DevOps teams to deploy and monitor AI services
- Contribute to technical architecture and help define best practices for AI product development
We are looking for
The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in software engineering and experience working with AI technologies.
- At least 3 years of experience in machine learning with Python (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- At least 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining cloud services in production (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- At least 3 years of experience using SQL.
- At least 3 years of experience with IaC and CI/CD solutions in cloud environments.
Development takes place mainly in Google Cloud Platform, and familiarity with the following tools is highly valuable:
- Vertex AI, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Redis
- Terraform / Terragrunt, Gradio
- API development, microservices, event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with platforms such as Optimove, Adform, Meta, Google, and Power BI is a plus
Practicalities
- Start date: September 1, 2025 (or as agreed)
- Language: Finnish or English; Swedish is appreciated but not required
- Work mode: On-site presence in Helsinki required 1–3 days per week
- Assignment: Long-term consulting assignment with Academic Work
