About the role
As a Compliance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that products meet international standards and regulatory requirements throughout their lifecycle. You will take ownership of the compliance process, from interpreting standards to supporting testing and managing certification activities. The role combines technical understanding with detailed documentation and close collaboration with internal teams and external certification bodies.

Work tasks
In this role, you will work closely with product development, testing teams, and external partners, acting as the link between standard requirements and practical implementation. Your work ensures that products meet international standards and are ready for global markets. You will combine hands-on coordination, technical understanding, and detailed documentation in a role that sits at the intersection of engineering and regulation.
- You will interpret international standards (IEC, UL, EN) and translate them into clear, actionable requirements for product development
- Support and guide product teams throughout the project to ensure compliance requirements are met
- Coordinate compliance activities across the product lifecycle, from concept to certification
- Ensure that testing is aligned with applicable standards by working closely with test engineers
- You will collaborate with test laboratories and certification bodies, acting as a key technical interface
- Prepare, review, and validate technical documentation and compliance reports
- Conduct internal checks and ensure readiness before submissions to certification bodies
- You will identify compliance risks early and support mitigation actions
- You will monitor changes in standards and proactively share insights within the organization
We are looking for
- Advanced technical understanding of power electronics and frequency converters
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power electronics, product development, testing, or compliance
- Knowledge of IEC/UL standards relevant for power electronic equipment
- Solid experience with grid-connected power converter products and familiarity with applicable standards and grid codes (IEC, EN, IEEE, UL)
- Good understanding of power quality, EMC, electrical safety, and grid-support functions (e.g. LVRT/HVRT)
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical way of working
- Full working proficiency in English
It is meritorious if you have
- Experience working with test laboratories and certification bodies
- Knowledge of Grid-codes (e.g., EN 50549, IEEE 1547, UL 1741)
- Experience with Marine classification approvals (e.g., DNV, LR, BV)
- Full working proficiency in Finnish
