Work tasks

As an SAP BTP Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that SAP BTP-related services are delivered efficiently, documented clearly, and continuously improved. You will work closely with internal ERP teams, business stakeholders, IT specialists, and external service providers to support a modern SAP landscape.

The SAP BTP area is developing within the organization, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building structure, improving governance, driving service excellence, and creating scalable processes in a global enterprise environment.

You do not need to be a dedicated SAP BTP architect to succeed in this role. However, you should have a solid understanding of SAP ecosystems, ERP platforms, cloud services, application management, IT service management, and vendor collaboration. Previous experience with SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP S/4HANA environments, SAP Basis-related collaboration, or SAP application services is considered highly valuable.

As an SAP BTP Service Manager, you will act as the bridge between technical vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring that SAP BTP services are documented, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

Your responsibilities include:

• Manage and develop service management practices related to SAP BTP
• Coordinate SAP BTP service delivery together with external vendors and partners
• Monitor service performance, backlog management, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activities
• Collaborate with ERP, IT, security, architecture, and business stakeholders
• Support governance processes related to SAP BTP, user access management, approvals, and operational controls
• Ensure documentation, service descriptions, and operational procedures remain accurate and up to date
• Drive problem-solving activities and coordinate resolution of operational issues
• Facilitate meetings and communication between vendors and internal stakeholders
• Support both day-to-day operational activities and long-term service development initiatives
• Contribute to process standardization, service quality, and operational excellence

Who you are

You are proactive, structured, and comfortable taking ownership of topics that may not yet have fully established processes. You enjoy creating clarity, improving ways of working, and making sure that stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams remain aligned.

You do not need to be the deepest technical expert in every SAP area, but you should be able to understand technical discussions, communicate effectively with specialists and vendors, and drive topics forward independently. You are equally comfortable discussing operational challenges, service improvements, governance topics, documentation, and business requirements.

Most importantly, you enjoy working at the intersection of SAP technology, service management, vendor coordination, and business collaboration.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience from SAP, ERP systems, enterprise applications, IT service management, or application management
• Strong understanding of SAP environments and business-critical application landscapes
• Experience with or exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), SAP Cloud technologies, or related SAP services
• Experience in service management, service design, ITIL-style processes, or similar ways of working
• Experience collaborating with external vendors, managed service providers, or consulting partners
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to create, maintain, and improve documentation and operational processes
• Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities
• Fluent written and spoken English

The following are considered advantages:

• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP services, integrations, or platform governance
• Understanding of SAP S/4HANA environments
• Experience in global enterprise organizations
• Experience with SAP Basis-related collaboration, access management, or operational controls
• Finnish and/or Swedish language skills

Practical information

• Salary: about 4,000–6,000 EUR/month based on your background and skill-set. For highly experienced candidates, a higher salary level may also be possible.
• Location: Helsinki, Turku, or Vaasa, Finland
• Employment type: Permanent contract with Academic Work
• Start date: August-September 2026
• Working hours: Primarily standard office hours with occasional evening, night, or weekend work may occur during planned upgrades, maintenance activities, or major releases
• Security clearance: The selected candidate must pass a security clearance conducted by the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service, SUPO
