Test Engineer, Konecranes, Espoo

About the role

As a Test Engineer, you get to be a crucial part of the Digital Center of Excellence, focusing on ensuring the integrity and usability of data collected from advanced lifting equipment. This role involves working with data from its inception in databases, through various APIs, to its end-users, supporting predictive maintenance and operational insights. You will collaborate closely with other tester in the platform teams, ensuring high-quality data for diverse applications.

Work tasks

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for quality assurance including testing data integrity, API functionality for data distribution, and developing test automation solutions to ensure reliable data for digital services and predictive maintenance.

We are looking for

• Proven track record in similar tasks
• Basic knowledge of SQL: select, filtering; joins (left/right/inner/full); simple aggregations; Windows functions; CTE common table expression what does it mean
• Good knowledge in Python
• Knowledge of APIs and basic API testing principles: REST (JSON) vs SOAP; HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE); Status codes (200, 400, 404, 500); Ability to write simple automated API checks
• Experience working with version control (Git)
• Understanding of data concepts: tables, schemas, relationships, primary keys
• Basic understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Experience working with Robot Framework (PyTest)

It is meritorious if you have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Pandas/Polars).
• Understanding of JSON, CSV, parquets and other common data formats.
• Understanding differences between Databases and Data Warehouses.
