About the role

As the Project Lead Engineer, you will focus on technical leadership and project coordination rather than hands-on design. Your role will play a central part in advancing sustainable solutions in the maritime sector, supporting engineering teams on innovative technical projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities throughout the delivery project, from the initial technical handover in sales to the final vessel delivery.

In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of experts—including mechanical and electrical engineers as well as automation specialists—ensuring that advanced solutions are delivered on time and meet the highest industry standards. The team follows a hybrid working model, with roughly half of the workweek spent in the office.

You are offered

  • The opportunity to work as part of an international, growing, and responsible organization
  • A key role in high-tech engineering projects with a significant impact on global sustainability
  • Comprehensive onboarding and continuous learning opportunities

Work tasks

In this role, your focus is on technical leadership and project coordination rather than hands-on design. Your responsibilities include:

  • Oversee engineering activities from sales handover to final delivery
  • Ensure compliance with customer contracts and classification requirements
  • Monitor design quality, manufacturability, and critical documentation
  • Manage technical interfaces between different ship systems
  • Provide support during installation and commissioning
  • Act as the technical contact for customers and stakeholders

We are looking for

  • A B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in demanding mechanical or electrical engineering or technical project management
  • A proven ability to lead project engineering teams and manage complex technical entities
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills in English (Finnish is seen as an advantage)
  • A firm focus on quality, safe work practices, and dedication to following health and safety guidelines
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Experience in the marine industry, electric power transmission, vessel automation, and working with classification societies is considered an advantage. Basic knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP), PLM tools (e.g., Teamcenter), and common office software is also a plus.

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Ability to manage yourself and take ownership of your work
  • Customer-focused mindset, with a proactive sense of urgency
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Collaborative and solution-oriented approach
