IT Service Manager to an international energy company, Espoo

About the role

In this role, you will work at the intersection of business operations and IT, taking end-to-end ownership of a portfolio of digital services and applications supporting large-scale hydropower operations. You will act as a crucial link between business stakeholders, architects, internal delivery teams, and external suppliers, ensuring that IT services remain secure, cost-efficient, reliable, and continuously evolving.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong possibility of extension. The position offers a flexible hybrid work model (2–3 days a week at the office) and is based in Espoo. Occasional travel within the Nordic countries is expected.

Work tasks

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of a portfolio of Hydro IT services and applications
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating operational needs into clear service roadmaps and action plans
• Drive service performance, availability, cybersecurity, compliance, and user experience
• Lead supplier collaboration, overseeing service quality, vendor commitments, contracts, and costs
• Prioritize development initiatives in close alignment with business owners, architects, and delivery teams
• Ensure all services align with internal IT service management standards, architecture principles, and continuity requirements

We are looking for

• A relevant academic background (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field)
• Solid experience in IT service management, application management, or digital service delivery
• Good understanding of ITIL practices, agile development, and the lifecycle of business-critical applications
• Practical experience in supplier management, service governance, and cost tracking/budgeting
• Proactive, structured, and self-driven mindset with the confidence to take ownership of complex entities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Full fluency in English (written and spoken)

It is considered a strong advantage if you have:

• Experience within the energy sector, operational technology (OT), or industrial digitalization
• Proficiency in Finnish or Swedish
