Senior Electrical Engineer, Mobile Machinery Electrification, Tampere

About the role

In this role, you are not just designing circuits—you are architecting the power systems of the future. You will focus on the electrical systems of heavy mobile machinery, specifically working with high-power ELV and LV systems. Your responsibility covers the entire cycle from initial design to final commissioning.

You will ensure that all motor drives and control systems are implemented according to the EN 60204-1 standard. The work includes system validation and hands-on testing, often in demanding environments where theory meets reality. You will work primarily at the engineering office using modern design tools, with a comprehensive induction period at the client’s main R&D hub in Tampere.

Work tasks

• Design and commissioning of electrical systems for mobile machinery
• Engineering of ELV and LV systems (1500Vdc / 1000Vac)
• Implementing motor drives and control systems according to EN 60204-1
• System testing, validation, and hands-on troubleshooting
• Collaborating with international teams and following global design standards

We are looking for

• A strong background in Electrical Power Engineering
• Professional experience with E3 and Teamcenter is critical for success in this role.
• Proven track record in industrial motor drives, instrumentation or mobile machinery
• Ability to solve complex logical errors and adapt your expertise to new operating models
• Full professional proficiency in English

It is meritorious if you have

• Experience in commissioning and working in challenging field conditions
• Knowledge of power electronics and AC systems
• Prior experience with the tools and methods used by major heavy machinery manufacturers
