Senior Service Engineer, Elmery Oy, Helsinki

About the role

Elmery is looking for a Service Engineer to lead customer-facing service activities and provide deep technical expertise in metallurgical process operations. As this is a newly created position in a growing company, it offers a unique opportunity to build, improve, and take real ownership of your work with a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on execution of customer projects. The role combines customer relationship leadership, service execution, technical reporting, commissioning support, troubleshooting, guarantee case handling, and active participation in process development. Because Elmery operates in a start-up environment, you will face high dynamism, continuously evolving objectives, and shifting priorities. Work tasks

Your main goal is to ensure that customers experience Elmery as a reliable, responsive, and highly knowledgeable partner. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and maintaining strong customer relationships during hands-on service projects, commissioning activities, and site support assignments.
• Executing technical services at customer sites, including inspections, process support, troubleshooting, and operational guidance.
• Investigating technical and process-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing practical solutions (including handling guarantee cases).
• Participating in commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up activities.
• Preparing accurate, clear, and high-quality internal and external technical reports and customer documentation.
• Acting as a process expert in internal development initiatives, bringing field feedback, technical insights, and practical improvement ideas into internal discussions.
• Supporting the development of service concepts, procedures, tools, and best practices.

Required qualifications:

• A B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Extensive hands-on experience in leading and executing industrial customer projects.
• Strong practical experience in metallurgy, with proven expertise in hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy.
• Experience in commissioning, process troubleshooting, and technical customer support.
• Experience in preparing technical and service-related reports for internal and external stakeholders, as well as handling technical follow-up or guarantee-related cases.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally and work on customer sites, including short-, medium-, and long-term assignments or temporary relocation when required.

It is considered highly beneficial if you have:

• An understanding of pyrometallurgical processes.
• Experience in process development and continuous improvement.

• Experience in international customer projects and industrial site assignments.
