ESG Process & Systems Specialist for the banking sector, Helsinki

About the role

As development activities are already in motion, we are increasing hands-on operations ESG Process & System Specialist to step in, take ownership of specific operational areas, and free up bandwidth for the Process Manager to focus on the strategic big picture. In this role, you will take full end-to-end ownership of incoming regulatory updates and process enhancements—from understanding the underlying reporting logic to aligning practicalities with subsidiary entities and overseeing process execution.

Work tasks

• Process Ownership & Streamlining: Take full end-to-end (E2E) ownership of defined ESG reporting sub-areas and incoming regulatory updates, driving them independently.
• Reporting System & Process Development: Design, optimize, and drive end-to-end technical reporting processes and data workflows to support evolving ESG reporting requirements.
• Subsidiary & Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with subsidiary companies and cross-functional teams to align reporting practicalities, data flows, and development initiatives.
• Data Handling & Automation: Hands-on handling of reporting data, automating workflows, and ensuring high-quality outputs across systems.
• Process Offloading: Support the Process Manager by taking ownership of execution-level reporting developments, operational shifts, and cross-team execution.

We are looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience in process development, reporting systems, or financial/data operations.
• ESG Knowledge: Solid understanding of ESG reporting frameworks and regulatory trends (e.g., ESG Pillar 3).
• Reporting System Development: Proven track record in building, driving, or implementing reporting systems and data handling procedures.
• End-to-End Process Handling: Demonstrated ability to manage processes holistically from input data to final report delivery.
• Data Handling & Process Automation: Practical skills in managing data pipelines, reporting environments, and workflow automation.
• Ownership & Adaptability: An independent problem-solver with a flexible mindset who can jump into ongoing projects and adapt to shifting regulatory landscapes.
• Advanced Communication & Stakeholder Management: Fluent in English with the ability to manage complex cross-team collaborations and align with diverse internal/external stakeholders.

It is meritorious if you have

• Financial Processes & Balance Sheet Structure: understanding of banking operations, financial control, or bank balance sheet structures.
• Technical Tooling:
  • Good proficiency in Excel
  • Practical knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, Python, or similar data-handling tools.
