About the role
Dieffenbacher is a German, globally operating machinery manufacturer focusing on the design and manufacture of press systems and complete production lines for the panel industry.
In this role, you will play a key part as a member of a ~20-person mechanical design team in Nastola. You will be responsible for specific equipment entities and perform related design work. You will work in close cooperation with automation designers and the chief mechanical designer to ensure projects progress smoothly. Additionally, you will guide external consultants and ensure the quality of the work.

Work tasks
- Equipment Responsibility: You will be responsible for designated equipment packages, overseeing equipment improvements, cost tracking, supporting project planning, and equipment documentation.
- Design: You will design custom customer assignments (heavy structures) using Creo & AutoCAD.
- Quality Assurance and Partner Guidance: You will direct design work done by consultants and ensure the output meets high quality standards.
- Practical Collaboration and Inspections: You will collaborate with the workshops, automation design, and R&D, perform equipment inspections, and communicate with customers as needed.
- Fieldwork: You will participate in troubleshooting at installation sites when necessary (site visits approx. 5–15 days per year).
We are looking for
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Solid design experience (preferably over 4 years) in heavy structures (1–20 t), machinery, and machine parts manufactured by welding or machining.
- Fluent English skills.
- Ability to work full-time at the Nastola office during the trial period. Option for 2 remote workdays per week after the trial period.
- Readiness to travel abroad approx. 5–15 days per year.
- Accountability, a proactive and precise working style, and good interpersonal skills.
Considered an Advantage:
- Good proficiency in Finnish.
- Understanding the requirements and possibilities of different manufacturing methods.
- Experience in structural strength calculations and motor sizing.
- Previous hands-on experience in welding or installation work.
