Data Platform Specialist (DPT & Snowflake), Tampere or Helsinki
We are looking for a hands-on Data Platform Specialist to join our client company’s Data & Analytics Development (DDE) team. Our client is a global leader in its industry (forest industry & sustainable bioeconomy), currently undergoing a massive digital and data transformation.
Preferred Tampere (Helsinki is also an option)

About the role
As part of the ~20-person DDE team, you will support a large-scale data transformation and AI roadmap. The DDE team acts as a key enabler across the entire enterprise, steering and supporting other teams while managing core data and analytics platforms.
Your focus will be on Data Platform Tooling (DPT) and Snowflake platform development and configuration rather than building data usage layers or analytics on top of the platform.
We are not looking for a "driver" (data user), but rather a "mechanic" who loves to build, configure, and fine-tune the engine under the hood. If you have a passion for platform development and engineering, this is the right opportunity for you!
Work tasks
- Platform Configuration & Development: Hands-on configuration, setup, and continuous development of the Data Platform Tooling (DPT) and Snowflake environment.
- Platform Architecture & Maintenance: Ensure the reliability, scalability, and optimal structure of the underlying data platform.
- Enabling Teams: Help eliminate platform bottlenecks and enable other development teams across the organization to succeed.
We are looking for
We are open to candidates at different seniority levels (from Junior to Senior). What matters most is your hands-on capability, genuine interest in platform engineering, and drive to get things done.
- Hands-on Experience: Practical experience with Data Platform Tooling (DPT) and Snowflake.
- Platform Mindset: Focus on platform configuration, infrastructure, and tooling rather than data consumption/usage.
- Language Skills: Fluent professional English (written and spoken). Finnish is not required.
- Proactive Attitude: Ability to drive tasks forward independently and take ownership of platform configurations.
Experience with Azure Cloud environment is seen as a plus.
