About the role
As a Data Scientist, you'll play a key role in shaping and developing AI-driven solutions that support strategic business goals. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on using generative AI and machine learning to create tangible business value. The role is hands-on and versatile: you will design, build, and evaluate models, and ensure their successful deployment into production. Your work will directly impact marketing, customer engagement, and personalization use cases by turning complex datasets into intelligent, data-driven solutions.
This position suits someone who is curious, business-minded, and comfortable switching between deep technical tasks and cross-functional collaboration.
Work tasks
- Develop, evaluate, and implement machine learning models to support business objectives
- Design and build generative AI solutions that leverage customer data effectively
- Analyze large-scale datasets (primarily in BigQuery) to uncover actionable insights
- Conduct A/B testing, deploy models to production, and monitor their performance
- Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and other experts to design use cases and communicate results clearly
We are looking for
Most of the development is done in Google Cloud Platform. Key tools and services include:
- Vertex AI, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Redis
- Terraform / Terragrunt, Gradio
- Marketing platforms that may utilize AI outputs: Optimove, Adform, Meta, Google, Power BI
Knowledge of these technologies is highly valuable in this role.
Practicalities
- Start date: September 1, 2025 (or as agreed)
- Language: Work is primarily conducted in Finnish or English; Swedish is appreciated but not required
- On-site work at the Helsinki office 1–3 days per week
- This is a long-term consulting assignment with Academic Work
