Lead Software Engineer, Hyvinkää

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling secure and reliable IoT architectures integrated with Android-based user interfaces. You will work closely with R&D, UX, and Operations teams to create smart, connected systems in real-world environments. This is a strategic and hands-on position for a seasoned IoT professional with strong technical leadership skills.

Work tasks

• Lead the end-to-end development of IoT solutions, from concept to deployment
• Design scalable IoT architectures including sensors, firmware, and connectivity
• Integrate hardware and software systems for real-time control and data feedback
• Develop and maintain Android applications that interface with physical systems
• Ensure high standards in software quality, CI/CD, and security
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align solutions with market needs

We are looking for

• Proven experience in full-stack IoT development (hardware to cloud)
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and/or Python
• Familiarity with microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32), and protocols (MQTT, HTTP, TCP/IP)
• Experience with IoT platforms such as AWS IoT or Azure IoT
• Android development skills (Java/Kotlin)
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles in IoT environments
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)

It is meritorious if you have

• Experience with Linux, Docker, or monitoring tools like Grafana
• Previous work in the door automation or electro-mechanical domain
• Experience in leading software or IoT development teams
