R&D Test Engineer, Normet, Iisalmi

About the role

As an R&D Test Engineer you will ensure that new products and prototypes perform safely and effectively. You will execute physical test runs and troubleshooting complex mobile systems. Working closely with design engineers, you will play a key role in validating next-generation industrial machinery. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty!

Work tasks

As ans R&D Test Engineer, you will focus on testing new products and prototypes to ensure they perform flawlessly before reaching the market. You will be a crucial part of a compact, dedicated testing team in Iisalmi, collaborating daily with global development and design teams.

Your days will be highly versatile, consisting of hands-on mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting, field measurements at mining sites, and verifying specifications. Whether you are running tests on the factory floor or driving to a nearby mine for real-world validation, you will take ownership of the testing lifecycle and clearly document your findings.

We expect you to be adaptable, as there may be some longer working days. These can be compensated as paid time off later.

We are looking for

• B.Eng. or M.Sc. (Tech) degree in a relevant field (e.g., electromechanics, mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering).
• Basic theoretical and practical knowledge of mobile machinery, covering control systems, electrics, and hydraulics.
• Hands-on attitude with a strong willingness to work in the field and directly with physical prototype equipment.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to document test results effectively.
• Advanced knowledge of English (both written and spoken). Finnish language skills are considered a strong advantage.
• B-class driving license and flexibility to occasionally travel to mining sites and different manufacturing locations.

It is meritorious if you have

• Fluent Finnish language
• Basic knowledge of mobile machinery control systems, electrics, or hydraulics
• Previous experience in field measurements or mechanical installations
