About the role
Our client is a large international technology company operating in a complex industrial environment. We are looking for an experienced Teamcenter Technical Lead to take a key role in the development and technical direction of its Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform.
Teamcenter is one of the company's core business systems, supporting not only product engineering and design but also manufacturing and lifecycle operations. The platform is extensive, business-critical and technically demanding, offering an opportunity to work with challenges that go well beyond a traditional PLM implementation.
Your mission is to develop a clear technical vision for the platform and turn that vision into concrete improvements. During your first year, you will focus particularly on system stability, performance and observability, assessing the current environment, identifying root causes of technical challenges and building a roadmap for long-term improvements.
This is not a traditional management role focused on coordination. You will be a technical expert who enjoys investigating systems, understanding how they work and helping others develop the best possible solutions.
You will work closely with an international technical team, primarily based in India, including architects, developers and DevOps specialists. Your leadership will be based on technical expertise, collaboration and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
We offer
- Salary: Indicative level of approximately 5,500 - 7,500 € / month, depending on experience and expertise
- A technically influential role: Take ownership of the direction and continuous improvement of a business-critical Siemens Teamcenter PLM platform.
- Complex technical challenges: Work with enterprise-scale architecture, integrations, customizations, performance optimization and platform reliability.
- An opportunity to make a lasting impact: Identify improvement opportunities, establish technical priorities and help build a more stable and maintainable platform.
- International collaboration: Work closely with experienced technical specialists and stakeholders across different locations and functions.
- Permanent employment: Join Academic Work as a permanent employee and work in a key technical position within our client's organization.
Work tasks
Your responsibilities will combine technical architecture, hands-on problem-solving and technical leadership.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Owning and developing the technical architecture and roadmap of the Siemens Teamcenter PLM platform.
- Analyzing the current Teamcenter environment to identify performance bottlenecks, stability issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Investigating complex technical problems through application logs, system monitoring, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Designing and guiding improvements to Teamcenter configurations, customizations, data models, workflows and integrations.
- Providing technical direction to developers and other specialists, reviewing solutions and helping resolve technical blockers.
- Supporting Teamcenter upgrades, technical changes and improvements to deployment and development practices.
- Improving platform observability, maintainability and long-term reliability.
- Collaborating with solution architects, service owners, DevOps specialists and other technical stakeholders to align development with business needs.
We are looking for
Above all, we are looking for someone who understands Siemens Teamcenter deeply enough to identify what needs to be improved, explain why and guide others in making those improvements.
We expect you to have (must-have)
- Extensive hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM in complex enterprise environments, with senior-level technical expertise.
- A strong understanding of Teamcenter architecture, configuration, customization and system integrations.
- Practical knowledge of key Teamcenter technologies and concepts, such as BMIDE, Active Workspace (AWC), Rich Client (RAC), workflows, lifecycle management, Access Manager and data modeling.
- A strong technical understanding of Teamcenter development and customization technologies, including relevant experience with ITK, Java and/or SOA/REST-based integrations.
- Proven ability to investigate complex application or platform issues, analyze logs, troubleshoot problems and identify root causes.
- The ability to design technical solutions, evaluate implementation approaches and guide other technical experts.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
It is considered an advantage if you have (nice-to-have)
- Hands-on development experience with ITK (C/C++), Java, Teamcenter SOA/REST services or AWC extensions.
- Experience with large Teamcenter upgrades, migrations, deployments or complex CAD integrations.
- Experience in performance tuning, SQL Server, indexing, dispatcher services or enterprise application monitoring.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing or DevOps practices.
- Experience with Teamcenter Manufacturing, Service Lifecycle Management, MRO or other manufacturing and aftermarket-related modules.
- Experience with cloud-hosted PLM environments.
- A relevant technical degree is beneficial, but we value demonstrated expertise and practical experience over formal educational qualifications.
To succeed in this role
You are curious, analytical and motivated by understanding complex technical systems. You take ownership of challenges rather than simply coordinating their resolution.
You can see the bigger architectural picture while remaining comfortable working with technical details. You enjoy sharing knowledge, challenging existing solutions constructively and helping colleagues succeed.
You are also able to communicate complex technical matters clearly and work effectively with specialists from different technical backgrounds and cultures.
