Senior Software Developer, Bluefors, Helsinki

About the role

In this role you will join Bluefors' Control & Software team to build and develop an automated monitoring platform for the cryostat units. The platform runs on an edge device installed at customer premises and operates reliably in both air-gapped and cloud-connected environments. It gives customers a live, monitorable dashboard and triggers alarms when something needs attention.

As a Senior Software Developer your key responsibilities are for example develop calculation and business logic for the monitoring platform with Python, build and maintain dashboards and alarm rules in Grafana and model, store, and query data using InfluxDB v2 and Flux. In addition to hands-on development work, you have a chance also to participate in designing the architecture of the platform.

We are looking for a person with a strong technical knowledge and also ability to work with different stakeholders and sharing knowledge.

Work tasks

• Developing business logics and data calculations using Python
• Designing and implementing advanced Grafana dashboards for real-time cryostat monitoring
• Managing and optimizing data flows within InfluxDB v2 and Flux
• Participating in designing the architecture of the platform
• Collaborating closely with different internal stakeholders

We are looking for

• Strong Python skills applied to calculation and business logic
• Hands-on experience with Grafana (e.g. dashboards and alerts)
• Hands-on experience with InfluxDB v2 and the Flux query language
• Experience utilizing AI tools and agents within a modern development environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to oversee complex technical solutions
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
• Fluency in English
