About the role
In this role, you will create and maintain user-centric technical documentation for complex systems, with a strong focus on modular content and single-source publishing. You will work closely with internal experts across the organization to gather information, validate technical accuracy, and continuously improve documentation quality and reuse. You’ll have real influence on ways of working and how documentation is developed over time.
Work tasks
- Produce, update, and maintain technical documentation for internal/product development needs
- Apply modular technical writing principles and single-source reuse to build scalable documentation sets
- Structure content in a topic-based way (e.g., reusable modules, consistent information architecture)
- Collaborate with engineers, product and project stakeholders to collect inputs and verify correctness
- Interpret technical materials such as specifications, reports, and drawings, and translate them into clear documentation
- Ensure documentation follows agreed standards, consistency rules, and compliance requirements
- Support end-user understanding with simple visuals (e.g., improved diagrams, marked-up images, screenshots) when needed
- Over time (depending on fit and interest), contribute to guiding/aligning an external partner team producing customer project documentation
We are looking for
Most important requirement:
- Advanced practical knowledge of modular technical writing and single-source workflows (e.g., building content so it can be reused across multiple document outputs without copy-paste)
In addition, we expect:
- Advanced practical knowledge of writing clear, accurate technical English (native-level clarity)
- Good practical knowledge of working with technical stakeholders and turning complex input into usable documentation
- Good practical knowledge of interpreting technical source material (specs, reports, drawings)
- Basic to good theoretical knowledge of standards and best practices in professional technical documentation
You can gain the above experience through different paths: technical writing roles, documentation-heavy engineering environments, product documentation ownership, or structured content development in a CMS.
It is meritorious if you have
- Basic to good practical knowledge of DITA/XML
- Good practical knowledge of working in a structured content environment (CMS, topic-based workflows, content governance)
- Basic theoretical knowledge of EU/regulatory topics affecting documentation
- Basic practical knowledge of technical illustration or image editing (e.g., improving existing visuals, creating simple diagrams)
To succeed in the role, your personal skills are
- Self-directed: you can identify what needs to be done and move work forward without constant guidance
- Proactive and social: you’re comfortable finding the right experts across a large organization
- Detail-oriented: you care about accuracy, consistency, and reusable structure
- Collaborative: you can challenge unclear inputs diplomatically and drive alignment
