About the role

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our satellite components—such as propulsion modules—are fully verified, documented, and flight-ready. As our Test Manager, you will lead the external and internal verification processes and official documentation. You will act as the key link between our technical team, international customers, space agencies and regulatory bodies, directly influencing project success and launch approvals.

You will join a growing team of 15 experts where your impact is immediate and visible. We follow a hybrid work model, with a preference for at least two days per week at the office to ensure smooth collaboration.

Work tasks

As our Test Manager, you will lead the external and internal verification processes and official documentation. You will act as the key link between our technical team, international customers, and space agencies.

Your key responsibilities:

• Requirements Management: Analyze customer requirements at the start of each project (typically 6-month cycles) and ensure every requirement is measurable and testable.
• Documentation: Take full ownership of official documentation, including test plans, reports, and verification matrices.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate directly with customers, space agencies, and partners to ensure all parties are aligned on verification progress and launch approvals.
• Test Management and Coordination: You will manage the test processes, including process development, and coordinate internal resources and engineers for testing phases. You will also participate in hands-on testing (e.g., vibration or thermal vacuum tests) and must be able to document or troubleshoot unexpected anomalies on the fly.
• Regulatory "Detective Work": Proactively identify and track requirements from various sources to ensure we meet all legal and technical standards for launch.

We are looking for

We are looking for someone who understands the high-stakes nature of the space industry and enjoys systematic documentation but isn't afraid to step into the lab when needed.

• Space Industry Experience: You have concrete experience in the space sector and understanding of the testing, regulations and the lifecycle of a satellite project from design to orbit.
• Educational Background: You hold a relevant degree (e.g., SpaceMaster or a relevant M.Sc. in Engineering) and have at least 5 years of professional experience post-graduation.
• Technical Breadth: You have a high-level understanding of mechanics, electronics, and embedded software. You can translate complex technical specs into actionable test requirements (but you don't have to be able to design the tests).
• Personal Attributes: You are self-driven and proactive. You genuinely enjoy producing formal documentation and have excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with different stakeholders.
• Language Skills: English is our primary working language. Professional fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
• We work with hybrid model, but hope to see you at the office (Otaniemi, Espoo) at least in two days per the week.

It is meritorious if you have

• Hands-on experience with testing electronics, mechanics and/or software.

The final candidate must pass a security background check (SUPO) before the start of the employment.
