About the role
This role is central to the operational execution of the purchasing process, focusing on ensuring materials are delivered on time. You will manage daily purchasing tasks, coordinate with suppliers, and proactively address potential issues to maintain supply chain efficiency within a dedicated team. The role is located in Hyvinkää, and you’re expected to be on-site at least three times a week. Academic Work offers you a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

Work tasks
This role involves the core operational execution within the purchasing process, including purchase order management, supplier communication, and logistics coordination to ensure timely material flow. We expect you to have the attitude to take initiative and to coordinate many things simultaneously. We hope you will confidently pick up the phone and won’t hesitate to sort things out.
- Create Purchase Orders and follow up on their execution.
- Communicate proactively with suppliers for order confirmations and shipment notifications.
- Book transportation with approved freight forwarders to ensure material delivery.
- Monitor automated Purchase Requisitions (PR) to Process and handle exceptions.
- Create manual Purchase Orders in exceptional cases when automation is not available.
- Monitor Order Confirmation deviations, clarify with suppliers, and update Purchase Orders accordingly.
- Handle day-to-day supplier issues and follow up on resolutions.
We are looking for
- Good understanding of purchasing processes & relevant work experience from the field
- Educational background in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Advanced knowledge of SAP
- Good knowledge of Excel
It is meritorious if you have
- Good knowledge of German or Finnish language
