
Development Manager - Medium voltage electrical systems

About the role
Your main location can be Vaasa, Helsinki, or Turku – and you’ll have the flexibility to work in a hybrid model. If you’re based outside Vaasa, occasional travel to the Vaasa site (approximately 2–3 days once per month) is expected.

Work tasks
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of MV electrical solutions in collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and partners
- Manage a forward-looking portfolio of MV systems, protection philosophies, and related equipment – ensuring technical quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Drive system development with a strong focus on data-driven and digital capabilities
- Provide technical support and up-to-date knowledge to stakeholders (e.g., sales, delivery, and project teams)
- Follow up on field installations and promote continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate closely with product managers, system experts, and R&D teams to ensure consistency across solutions
We are looking for
- MSc or BSc degree in Electrical or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with MV systems or equipment (e.g., switchgear, protection relays)
- Understanding of short-circuit studies, fault current analysis, and protection coordination
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities in an international environment
- Fluent English skills (written and spoken)
It is meritorious if you have
- Knowledge of energy markets, industrial control systems, or communication protocols
- Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, or start-up activities
- Familiarity with grid codes and OEM products
- Understanding of agile methodologies and digital engineering tools

- Location: Vaasa, Helsinki, or Turku (occasional travel to Vaasa ~1–2 times/month)
