IT Analyst (cross-border payments) for the banking sector, Helsinki

About the role

As an IT Analyst, you will help transition from legacy systems to a centralized solution, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring quality, standards, and deadlines are met. Your responsibilities include documenting and communicating requirements, managing process and application quality, and ensuring a scalable production environment. You will support business transformation, promote team performance, and facilitate agile collaboration with business, IT, and external partners. You’ll lead discussions, coach teams, conduct peer reviews, and propose innovations to simplify and modernize technology solutions.

Work tasks

• Drive and manage the initiative delivery process according to scope, quality, client standards, and deadlines to successfully deliver on target.
• Elicit, document, and communicate the functional and non-functional requirements, enabling business transformation in alignment with the target picture.
• Identify and establish proactive ways to manage the robustness and quality of processes and applications. This supports business stakeholders in securing a reliable, scalable, and up-to-date production environment.
• Keep track and share the latest business and best practices, to improve team performance and development.
• Drive and facilitate agile cooperation between stakeholders in business, IT, and external partners, to enable successful deliveries that drive business performance.
• Provide payment expertise, including facilitating and driving discussions, coaching teams, and providing peer reviews to maximize customer value.
• Drive proposals to innovate, simplify and modernize technology solutions.

We are looking for

• Fluent written and spoken English
• 10+ years’ experience in technology, with IT and/or business analysis
• Knowledge of the banking/financial sector and cross border payments (SWIFT and ISO messages) and industry wide payment processing products
• Experience in SWIFT payments infrastructure, CBPR+, MT to MX migrations, RTGS and Realtime payments
• Experience of Data Mapping, Data Migration, interface specifications and Process Modelling
• Hands-on experience with SQL, user interface prototyping and design
• Experience of using Jira and Confluence

SEPA, EPC, NPC knowledge will be an additional advantage.
